church (Joseph and Torey Rainwater and their two beautiful young children; Noah, Natalia). We went to Denny’s and we had a wonderful time of fellowship with them. After spending a few hours together, we went back to the church and rested, and after refreshing we went to our next destination.
We arrived at North Gaston Church of God around 4:45 P.M. and were greeted by the associate Pastor, Andy Nicholson (from whom I gleaned a lot of tips on pastoral and personal ethics from later on when we went out to eat after the drama). After being shown around and assessing the stage we commenced to setting up and finished around 5:30-5:45. Shortly after we started praying for the night’s enactment. The service was brought to order at the appointed time, and there was a trio that sang and then the service given over to Bro. Brock; the conductor for FGBI on the East Coast and the director of our cast.
On this particular night there was a fairly good sized audience, around 150 people. We acted the drama and it went well, we showed good confidence and skill on this night which was the 9th time we had performed this drama live. After the play was over Bro. Randy Lemon gave the altar call and delivered what was on his heart. Bro. Lemon prayed with the congregation and Bro. Brock took the microphone, and brought to the attention of the audience one particular thing that took place during the play, when the adulteress woman asked the pastor if even God could forgive her sin; then as Bro. Brock began dealing with sin and continuing to give the altar call you could feel the presence of the Holy Ghost and the convicting power of God; eyes began to water and hearts began to be unveiled, and God really touched hearts and seeds were planted.
After the service the associate Pastor took us out to eat and we were there for more than an hour, which didn’t really seem like that to me. I was really attentive to what he had to say, because he said quite a few things that were profitable to take in. Afterwards we went to the place where we were staying that night and we rested.
