We woke up with the rooster this morning, literally, and left Iva, South Carolina at 6:00 am. Bro. Lemon took the wheel and Daniel stayed up with him while the rest of us slept. Nine hours later, he felt that he had done his time and let Bro. Brock take over for the last 2 or so hours.
We arrived in Hagerstown, Maryland at about 3:30 pm. After grabbing a bite to eat and making a quick pit stop at Walmart (girls have to have their hairspray!), we went and began to set up at Bro. Samuel Fendley’s church. We thought that we would have a little extra time since the service did not start until 7:30, but we soon found out different.
At a lot of churches, people arrive about 15 minutes early when there is a program or something going on, but never before have I been somewhere that the congregation started trickling in an hour before time. By the time 7:30 rolled around, the church was packed out, and they had to set up extra chairs in the front, and also down the aisle. That was probably one of the few times I can say that I was happy that I was afraid of tripping over someone.
They were a very lively crowd, laughing at all of Bro. Brock’s antics, but you could also see the expressions on their faces as they wiped the tears from their eyes during the climax, which led up to the altar call. The Lord really helped Zachary as he told his story of his former bitterness toward God, and hatred of the church before he was gloriously saved in his room, where he felt the conviction of the Lord as he sat all alone. With the building being so full, only a few people could make their way to the altars, while the rest stood in their pews and prayed. We know that at least one girl, and one boy, really received help from the Lord.
We are so thankful for all that the Lord has been doing on our Playcast. We know that without Him, none of this would be possible. Yes, at times we may grow weary, but it is then in our weakness, that our strength is made perfect in Him. We ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers during this last week of traveling. We may be coming to the close, but we are looking for the Lord to move in an even mightier way than we have yet seen.
